Gluten-Free Chicken Big Mac Fries
Yes, you read that right — Gluten-Free Chicken Big Mac Fries, all in one dish. And let me tell you, they’re every bit as delicious as they sound!
This is the ultimate fakeaway recipe to satisfy those McDonald’s cravings, especially for us gluten free folks here in Ireland, where we’re still waiting (impatiently!) for gluten free burger buns to make it onto the McDonald’s menu. So while we wait… why not make our own version at home?

Inspired by the limited-time Chicken Big Mac, I decided to give this classic dish a twist by using crispy gluten free chicken tenders instead of beef. You can absolutely swap them for cooked beef mince if you prefer, but I promise, the chicken version is unreal.

It has all the flavours of a Big Mac, the cheese, the pickles, the lettuce, the sauce but instead of a bun, it’s all piled onto golden fries and baked into one cheesy, saucy, crave-worthy dish. It’s everything you love in a Big Mac, just made coeliac-safe and way more fun to eat.

The Big Mac sauce really is the star of the show here. It’s creamy, tangy, and so close to the real thing that you’ll want to keep a jar in your fridge at all times. I recommend making it ahead as it tastes even better after chilling for a few hours. And the best part? It keeps in the fridge for up to 2–3 weeks.

I only tried this combo the day I wrote the recipe… and I knew instantly it had to go up on the blog. It’s one of my new favourites, easy to throw together, full of flavour, and such a fun way to recreate a fast food favourite at home.

Notes
I used gluten free chicken tenders, but you can swap for cooked beef mince to keep it classic.
Frozen fries or homemade chips both work — bake or air fry until crispy.
The homemade Big Mac sauce is best when made ahead and chilled for a few hours.
Use dairy-free cheese to make the whole dish gluten and dairy free.
Store leftover sauce in the fridge for up to 2–3 weeks in an airtight container.
Perfect for sharing — serve straight from the dish with forks and dig in!
