Gluten-Free Prawn Toast
If you used to love grabbing prawn toast from the Chinese before going gluten free, you’re going to be buzzing over this recipe. This Gluten-Free Prawn Toast is crispy, golden, savoury, and every bit as good as the takeaway version but made at home in the air fryer and 100% coeliac-friendly.

This is proper fakeaway food, quick, easy, and absolutely packed with flavour. You get that crispy base, fluffy prawn topping, and golden sesame crunch, just like you remember. The air fryer gives it the perfect texture without the deep frying, and let’s be honest, it’s way less mess too!

I used gluten free white bread for the base, fresh prawns mushed up with soy sauce, sesame oil and a coating of sesame seeds on top. You can cut them into triangles or squares like the real deal and serve with sweet chilli sauce for dipping.

Honestly, if you’re missing Chinese takeaway night, this recipe will hit all the right spots. It’s one of those things you think you’ll never have again when you go gluten free and then you try this and remember exactly what you’ve been missing.

They’re great for starters, fakeaway nights, picky teas, or even party platters. You can prep them ahead of time and cook straight from the fridge in just minutes.
Crispy, savoury, and full of nostalgic takeaway flavour this Gluten-Free Prawn Toast is going straight into my top fakeaway recipes.

Press sesame seeds on top for that signature crunch.
Air fry at 200°C 400°F for 6–8 minutes until golden and cooked through.
Serve with sweet chilli sauce, soy dip, or garlic mayo for dipping.
Can be prepped in advance and stored in the fridge for a few hours before air frying.
