Gluten-Free Orange Scones
Bright, zesty, and drizzled with a sweet orange glaze, these Gluten-Free Orange Scones are an absolute delight! They’re soft and tender on the inside, with a light golden crust on the top and bottom. Bursting with real orange juice and zest, these scones are the perfect addition to breakfast, brunch, or a sweet afternoon treat with a cup of tea.

A Refreshing Twist on a Classic Scone
I based this recipe on my tried-and-true gluten free plain scones but gave them a citrusy makeover by adding both fresh orange juice and zest to the dough. The result? A batch of scones that are soft, never dry, and absolutely packed with orange flavour in every bite.

Orange Glaze to Finish
To really bring out that fruity flavour, I topped the cooled scones with a simple glaze made from icing sugar and more fresh orange juice. I even added a bit of zest on top for that lovely pop of colour. It makes the scones look as good as they taste!

Tips for Perfect Gluten-Free Scones
Making gluten-free scones isn’t hard, but a few little tips make all the difference:
- Keep your ingredients cold, especially your butter.
- Don’t overmix the dough – it should just come together.
- Use a sharp cutter and don’t twist it, to help them rise evenly.
If you follow these steps, you’ll get light, fluffy scones that are anything but crumbly or dry.

Why I Love These Scones
These are honestly one of my new favourite bakes. They smell incredible as they bake, and they’re just the thing when you want a bake that feels a little fancy but is still easy to make. The kids love them with a little butter or jam, but I love mine warm with just the glaze, perfect with a cuppa!
