Hi, I’m Laura — the face behind Laura’s Gluten Free Kitchen.
I’m a mum of three, a home baker, and someone who knows first-hand just how important good, safe food really is.
But my story with gluten-free living didn’t start in the kitchen… it started in hospital.
🌿 My Story
As a child, I was constantly sick. I was in and out of hospital, and no one seemed to have any answers.
My family were at their wits’ end, worried sick watching me get weaker and weaker. I was so thin, skin and bones and nothing anyone tried seemed to help.
The doctors kept saying I was too young and too weak for further testing. But my mum knew something wasn’t right.
One day, she had enough. She stood her ground and pushed for more tests, even arguing with the doctors because she was so worried about me. She always says she truly believed that if something didn’t change, the next time she’d be leaving the hospital, it would be without me.
It sounds dramatic, but that’s how serious it was.
Finally, after everything, I was diagnosed with coeliac disease at just 8 years old.
🧁 Why I Created This Blog
That diagnosis changed everything.
Growing up gluten-free wasn’t easy, especially at a time when there weren’t many options available. Food often felt restrictive, and I never wanted to feel like I was missing out.
That’s where my love for baking and cooking began. I wanted to recreate the foods everyone else was enjoying but in a way that was safe for me.
Over time, that passion turned into Laura’s Gluten Free Kitchen.
Now, I share recipes that prove gluten-free food doesn’t have to feel like a compromise. It can be comforting, delicious, and just as enjoyable as anything else.
👩👧👦 Life Now
I’m now a mum to three amazing children, Darragh, Isla, and Willow, and they are a huge part of everything I create.
My recipes are made for real life:
