So i wanted to make something different so i thought id make cookies into bars. this is just an old cookie recipe but i put a layer of Nutella in the middle. Yes i know by now your thinking this girl is nuts about Nutella, but i cant help that i love the stuff. I know you like it 2 if you clicked on the recipe.
Anyway these are so good, use as much Nutella as you wish.
Makes 18 Bars
- 2 cups Gluten free flour
- 1 teaspoon Bicarbonate soda
- ½ cup butter
- ¾ cup light Muscavado sugar
- ½ cup caster sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups dark chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to180*C Fan.
Line a brownie tin with parchment paper.
In a medium-sized bowl whisk together the flour and baking soda Set aside.
Mix the butter with the two sugars until fluffy.
One at a time add the eggs and mix until each is incorporated.
Next add the milk and the vanilla extract. Mix until completely smooth.
Now add the dry mixture to the wet. Do this in parts. If you find the mixture is too dry after you have mixed all of the flour mixture in, then add a tablespoon or two more of milk until you reach a more dough like consistency. If you find the mixture to be too wet, then add more flour, a tablespoon at a time.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips until mixed thoroughly.
In the meantime put nutella in a small bowl and soften in the microwave.Use as much as u like. I used a lot.
Pour half the mixture in the tray then pour on a layer of the nutella then add the rest of the dough.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges begin to brown slightly and the top is firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and let cool. Then cut into squares.
